Sarah's Secret Surprise
Secrets and surprises often go hand in hand and working in the engagement ring industry, I am no stranger to one or the other. My excitement precedes my better judgment when I (accidentally?😉) post a surprise piece wayyyy before its big reveal. But I managed to keep this one a little covert while posting bits and pieces still in its production stage. An open secret, you might say.

I will admit, it fuels my own resolve to finish this piece as perfect as it can be seeing and reading your reactions, especially ones that come from the actual recipient of the ring. I wanted to fast track the process but understanding the fragility of diamonds (Yes, diamonds can be fragile) and how meticulous handcrafting can be, I (and all of you) have no choice but to wait.

Sarah is aware of the somewhat long wait for Little White Pouch pieces. Having been a repeat client since 2021, I feel like I know Sarah through her bespoke pieces. Mostly pieces that she shared with her sisters and friends. Mind you, Sarah and I haven’t met in person yet but she put a lot of trust in me to create these meaningful treasures for her and her loved ones. Now, it is a privilege for me to make something for Sarah that someone else had custom ordered for her: her dream engagement ring.

EJ seemed like just another inquiry. He knew what he was looking for complete with photo pegs - identical to ones Sarah sent years ago! I must say, I did get a little teary-eyed once I realized that we are finally creating Sarah’s dream ring. It was as if I have been waiting for this message since talking about it in 2023. It was a simple request: an elongated cushion Diamond ring but EJ added details that would commemorate their time as a couple, 14 accent stones plus 1 main stone for their 15 years together.

Keeping this a secret and a surprise from Sarah felt like a crime. I may have posted teasers here and there but this 3 carat cushion-cut diamond was too beautiful not to share! And Sarah never failed to comment or heart whenever her ring would make an appearance. She never caught on but seeing her excitement for what she thought was someone else’s ring reassured me that we were on the right track. I know cause aside from her reactions and ❤️’s, EJ would show me her messages asking him to take note of this ring’s elements.

All the secrecy and facade was definitely worth it when Sarah finally met her dream ring. A simple message “OMG AKO SI MS. Y” was enough for me to know that it was a successful surprise. 🥹

Congratulations on your engagement, Sarah & EJ 💕
